Plugin bundles
Plugin bundles will be plugin files containing more than only one plugin. This would be pretty useful if plugins come with a default gui also realized as seperate plugin (like JimFileOrganizer or JimSearch and their GUI-Plugins). This way end users will only have to install the plugin bundle containing both and the rest is done by Jim.
Localization
Currently Jim is only available in english, because I think most people using computers speak english. As I for myself am german, I intend to internationalize Jim so it would be easy to add other languages (well, I for myself can only add German).
A good logging system
I'm working on that issue because it would make it easier to fix bugs in Jim if
more information is available.
As logging framework I'm intending to use
log4j.
A Plugin to copy all images of a tag to a destination folder
Such a plugin would be pretty useful if you'd like to send your photos to your friends
without copying them manually one by one out of thousands of folders.
A possible scenario where you would like this plugin would be the following: Your
girlfriend forces you to give her all photos showing you. You'd find all of them using
the JimSearch plugin and then you just use the
copy-plugin to copy all these scattered photos together to one folder and send this
folder to your girlfriend.
Other ideas
An advanced search engine
This could be a search engine where you could not only combine tags with an AND like
it is done in JimSearch, but to combine them in
any possible way.
These tag based searches could be combined with searches after ratings, full-text
searches in descriptions and names and specifications of the period of time the photo
was taken in, etc.
Fullscreen view
A screen filling view of images, so you can really enjoy them!
Preview icons
A friend of mine had the idea of substituting the flower icons of images in the tag tree with little preview icons of them.
